How Perception Counts In Life....

When my friends came to know about my blog,I was inundated by their suggestions in enhancing it.One of my friend Veena suggested me to post articles in my blog and I found that to be a great idea. Here's my first article in my blog!
Perception-the way we look at things does sometimes play a vital role in life!I would like to share a story which i have heard long back with u.Some of u may have heard this before.Anyways ,this is how the story goes.... A famous shoe manufacturing company decided to launch it's product in an Island. Before launching it's product, the company use to do a customer research. Two of the company's employee went to the Island to do the customer reasearch and got back to the company to submit their research results. One employee said,"Nobody in that Island wear shoes ,so it is not possible to launch our product".The other one said,"Nobody in that Island wear shoes;so we don't have competitors and we can difinitely be successful, if we launch our product there". This is how perception makes difference. The story reminds me of the quote,"Pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity; An optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty". Visualizing a problem in a wrong angle or brooding over the problem can never solve the problem.Coz,I myself use to brood over a failure without pondering about the cause and the solution to the failure. I am trying to change this attitude in me and I hope i get rid of this attitude soon.Ah! it seems, i have taken a detour from the article to introspection.Hmmm,i like introspecting.Okay ,back to the article! My PowerElectronics Professor use to say,"to find a solution to a difficulty/problem view the problem from outside the problem rather than viewing it from inside the problem".Got confounded??I'll tell u an example which can make things clear.when we keep a stone close to our eye , we can see only the stone and the entire world get's hidden by the small stone, but when we keep the stone a couple of feets from our eye it will look smaller. In the same way, the problems should be given a far sight, which will help solving them in a better way.I happened to see a captivating quote in one of the Dan Brown novel named "Digital fortress".It says,"Everything is possible;Impossible takes a little longer".My god! I have written so much of serious stuff!!!Does'nt sound like me right?Ok. ok.. i'll conclude the article with a funny quote on perception."When a man wants to murder a tiger,it's called sport; When the tiger wants to murder him ,it's called ferocity".
